Alejandro Chang

Hey everyone, welcome! My name is Alejandro and I'm currently a Senior Software Engineer located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have over 5+ years of software development experience in both backend and frontend with an emphasis in Frontend scalibility, accessibility and performance.


I have first-hand experience working in the startup scene as well as some of the biggest unicorns in the world. I was incredibly blessed to be the first FE engineer for the US Department at TikTok which brough me incredible experience - helping ramp up their department (helping hire over 50+ engineers of all levels), contributing to their business development growth which included 7 business different verticals and being present during one of their biggest booms of the companies history.


When I'm not coding, I love spending time at church where my community lies ⛪, I love exploring and traveling the world ✈️, trying new cuisines and foods, visiting the beach 🏖️, playing all kinds of sports and reading. Anything that requires me to think or be active, I'm typically all in!

I'm an energetic software engineer with the creative mindset of an entrepreneur. I have experience in web development, web applications, and mobile applications.

I am well versed in JavaScript, React, Redux, React Native, GraphQL, Apollo, MongoDB, HTML5 and CSS3. I also have experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Meteor, Redshift and SQL among other technologies. I have developed and designed creative, functional and detail-oriented websites, web applications and mobile applications while adhering to latest Software Engineering practices and conventions.

I understand both NoSQL and SQL databases and their pros and cons. I am familiar with Agile methodologies and quick iterations.

I have familiarity with additional technologies such as Webpack, Babel, web browser tooling and Javascript libraries. I have build rich and vibrant User Interfaces, User Experiences and clean Developer Experiences while making code reusable and scalable.
